Deerfield Ultimate had another high-spirited game against Pomfret today! Conditions were great, 68 degrees, mostly sunny, and both winds and gusts just shy of 15mph. Coaches continued with playing true hex, incorporating all aspects of practice and drills this year in the game. We continued with two lineups, all players of which worked hard getting at the disc, catching deep throws, overall impressive defense, and catches from many new players! Both teams showed amazing spirit, making a last-minute game of Ultimate a really fun one.
Shoutouts this game go to Baokun Chen ‘25 for great cuts and catches, as well as Oscar Chen ‘24 for scoring three points! Furthermore, we had some crazy scores from Ashish Sharma ‘24, Nikhil Lebaka ‘24, Brandon Smith ‘26, and Zohan Subhash ‘26, with the most notable play coming from Ashish and Nikhil on their point right after the pull. The most notable player this game was Charlie Rolland ‘26 for always putting herself out there and giving it her best, while always having good spirit in practice and in games. After the game, the team enjoyed a post-game shriv! Leaving the fields with high spirits (and just a bit drenched), we look forward to our next game away at MacDuffie on Wednesday!
If you’re reading this and you enjoy watching people run in hexagons, or watching a really fun circle-ly thing get thrown up in the air, then come out to an Ultimate game! We look forward to a couple more games of the season and would love to see y’all on the field! (Writeup by Jean Meza ‘26)
