Deerfield’s Varsity Girls tennis squad hit the road for a weekend date with Taft in Watertown, CT on Saturday. The team adapted to a shifting lineup and new doubles pairings, as has been the theme of the season thus far. High wind and wandering rain showers forced this match indoors.
Highlights from the day include Kate MacKenzie and Devon Coleman’s third doubles win. The pair has developed a rapport and set a great example for others as they lift each other up and bring fun to the courts. Coleman continued her winning ways at singles, earning a tie-break win at the third position.
Credit goes to all the girls in green who played up at least one ladder position and gave their match all they had. The squad has a quick turnaround, with Westminster visiting Monday for a makeup match.
