On Saturday, Deerfield hosted Taft on the Cow Turf for a highly anticipated game. The team came out energized and despite going down three goals in the first quarter, Chase Collins scored a buzzer-beater goal to shrink the deficit to three going into the second quarter. Ultimately, Deerfield was able to cut the deficit to three going into the fourth quarter, and while the defense held Taft to only one goal in the fourth quarter, Deerfield was unable to close the gap on defense. Some players with notable performances include Olivia Smit with 13 saves in goal, Harlowe Healey with 4 goals, and Booie Blazak with 3 caused turnovers. The team travels to Easthampton the play Willison on Wednesday.
