Deerfield improved to 6-1 and 3-0 in league play with a 4-2 road victory over defending league champs Worcester Academy. It was Deerfield’s first road game and first road victory of the year. Gavin Rigney and Jake Rohan each had an RBI in the top of the first inning to give Deerfield an early lead. C Fletcher Waterman hit a 2 run home run in the 5th inning to give Deerfield a 4-0 lead. Worcester scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th but went down 1-2-3 in the 7th. The pitching combination of Gavin Rigney, Griffin Dupois and Connor Niemec held Worcester to just 7 hits and 2 ER.
