Ultimate Disk had our first game of the season today against a strong opponent, Eagle Hill. The Pioneers took the first half, but not without a fight. Sammy Sullivan ’25 made excellent calls, guiding many players who are new to the game. Diego Soto Lopez ’24 and Davey Mazur ’24 had some crazy swat-downs; Jeanlukas Meza ‘26 was a star in the cup; captain Alice Ai ’24 was an expert defender, and Josh Freedman ’26 had a beautiful pull after point 5.
We tied the second half of the game, with goals and assists by an impressive number of different players: Ashish Sharma ’24, Preyas Sinha ’24 (hat trick!), Alice Ai, Kevin Gonzalez ’24, Jeanlukas, Josh, Diego, Sammy, Davey, and Hazel Secker ’26. Shoutouts go to Hazel and Justin Ahn ’24 for their deep cuts, Diego for brilliant blocking, and Josh for amazing defense. All players, whether on the field or on the sidelines, modeled Spirit of the Game, and the competitive energy was positive from start to finish. Coaches were particularly impressed with the excellent positioning and flow of the defense, and we all feel fired up for our upcoming home game against McDuffee, April 3 at 3 p.m. We are grateful for the many fans who came to cheer us on (Including AD Mr. Howe & Head of School, Dr. Austin), and we hope you can join us Wednesday on our beautiful field in the South Division!
