RP Gavin Rigney inherited a bases loaded jam with no outs in the top of the 7th inning with Deerfield clinging to a 1 run lead. Rigney was tasked to hold onto the lead and close the game. He did just that! Rigney got 3 straight outs and Deerfield held on for a 4-3 win to improve to 2-0 on the season. Rigney contributed at the plate as well with 2 hits and an RBI. DH Malachi Costello had a game high 3 RBI from the 4 spot in the lineup after batting 2nd the previous game. SP Conor Niemec continued a string of quality starts, going 4 and a third innings allowing just 2 hits and 1 run.
