In a game dedicated to our local Special Olympic athletes, Deerfield took on Hotchkiss at home on Saturday evening, coming away with a 5-0 win. Annie Dinges ’24 opened the scoring, stuffing home a puck after good work behind the net by Ava Giroux ’26. Then, after a great offensive shift by the whole line, Brady Wierl ’26 found an Allie Corrieri ’25 rebound, walked out in front, and fired a puck home. Dinges then scored again, coming wide into the zone and burying a puck in the back of the net. Giroux then scored on the power play, tipping in a Corrieri shot (Dinges earned the secondary assist), and Kate Doucette ’27 rounded out the scoring, poking home a rebound after a great rush by Ava Carvel ’25. Campbell Krotee ’25 earned the shutout, and Doucette got the hard hat for her great work in all three zones. Thanks to the Giroux family for the pizza and wings after the game! Next up is Williston on Wednesday.
