Deerfield competed against Loomis this Wednesday. The boys were expecting a hungry team as the last result against Loomis was victorious, 4-2. Deerfield prepared for a good game, knowing the importance of starting off strong. Maintaining possession throughout the first period, Jakub Kohn ‘24, assisted by Tom Molson ‘24 and Ryan Diffley ‘25, was able to start off the game halfway through the first period. A few minutes later, Tom Molson was able to bury one, assisted by Connor Coutu ‘25. Coming into the second period up 2-0, Deerfield looked to expand their lead. The second period started with even play, as Loomis was looking to fight their way back. Marc Miron ‘24 denied them that opportunity with the third goal assisted by Kellar Kelusky ‘27. Loomis was able to take advantage of a power play, scoring their only goal at the end of the second. Deerfield did not sit-back in the third. Jakub Kohn got his second goal of the game halfway through the third period, with an assist from Zachary Chehade ‘25 and Tom Molson. 30 seconds later Drew Keiver ‘25 buried the last goal of the game, assisted by Cam Herr ‘24. Deerfield finished the game all out, securing their 5-1 win. John Tolve ‘24 had a phenomenal game, coming up with 37 saves. Looking forward to our rematch against Avon Old Farms on Saturday.
