Deerfield hosted Taft for our senior game, celebrating seniors Georgia Ball, Autumn Cooney, Olivia Smit, Gracie Spencer, and Greta Trapp.
The first set was dominated by the fast paced, high-energy offense of Deerfield. Defense led by Trapp ’25, Spencer ’25, and Zoe Galaburda ’26 provided excellent passing for setters Emerson Lewis ’28 and Charlotte Coody ’26 to run the offense. Hitting from Harmoni Dobbins ’26, Sophie Kamil ’26, and Evelyn Kunde ’26 kept Deerfield in control eventually winning the set 25-10.
Taft came out strong in the second set. An early service run put them ahead 10-3. Deerfield rallied late in the game on the back of a 9 service run by Kamil to go up 19-18. Deerfield put the game away with an excellent dig from Trapp that ended with a kill from Kunde, finishing with a final score of 25-20.
The third set started close until Kunde stepped back to serve. She went on a 7-point service run with the support of multiple kills from Ball putting Deerfield up 19-9. Deerfield was able to finish up the game with an excellent dig from Cooney, 2 kills from Smit, and a service run from Spencer. Deerfield won the set 25-12 to win the match.
Congratulations again to all of our seniors who contributed to a fabulous win. Our next game will be at St. Paul’s school on Nov. 6 starting at 4:00pm.
