Hitting the road for a long trip on Wednesday, Deerfield faced Hotchkiss with the host Bearcats emerging with a victory over Deerfield, 2-3.

Deerfield had some strong moments throughout the match, particularly from middles Harmoni Dobbins ‘26 and Sophie Kamil ‘26, but struggled to keep that momentum going at key points. Strong defense and good hitting from Hotchkiss allowed them to come back to take the first set, while Deerfield was able to squeak out close wins in sets 2 and 3. In the fourth set, Hotchkiss capitalized on Deerfield errors to send the match to a deciding set where the Bearcats were able to stay in front to earn the victory.
