Traveling to Exeter on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, Deerfield fought hard against a strong Exeter squad but ended up losing, 0-3.
After the long bus ride, Deerfield brought good energy to the start and quick defense from Greta Trapp ‘25 and Emerson Lewis ‘28 picked up Exeter’s powerful hits. The teams traded side-outs until Exeter was able to grab a small lead that they slowly extended through the set to finish with a score of 19-25.
In the second set, Deerfield’s receive struggled to handle the Big Red’s strong serves, but the Big Green mounted a later comeback on blocks from Harmoni Dobbins ‘26 and Sophie Kamil ‘26 that narrowed the gap before Exeter took the set, 20-25.
A similar story in the third set with Deerfield playing hard, but not able to overcome the well-placed tips and serves from Exeter en route to a score of 19-25.
