The Big Green continued their series of home games in their second consecutive game on Jamie Kapteyn field on Wednesday vs. Williston Northampton. The Doors opened the scoring nearing the midpoint of the first half when Magda Curylo ’26 was on the receiving end of Allie Corrieri’s ’25 free-kick, taking a great first touch to put her in shooting range and precisely placed the ball in the corner of net past the diving Williston goalkeeper. The Big Green inked the scoresheet again before halftime when Maggie Garbarino ’27 intercepted a Williston pass that she then played through to Eleanor duPont ’26 who drove to goal and beat both the Williston defender and goalkeeper to double the Big Green lead and give the Doors the 2-0 lead at the half.
In the second half, the visiting Wildcats cut the lead in half, but the Big Green continued to press and scored a flurry of goals in the final 15 minutes of play to close out the game. The next goal came when Sammie McKee ’25 played an accurately placed and well timed ball to Maggie Gabarino on the flank who drove the ball to goal and went 1v1 with the goalkeeper to score and help the Big Green extend their lead. Eleanor scored her second goal of the game on a beautiful shot to the back post. Finally, Hazel Patton ’26 notched her first goal of the season when she buried a rebound off of Minjoo Serhant’s ’27 shot. At the final whistle the Big Green were victorious, 5-1!
The Big Green defense again held strong and neutralized several of the Williston opportunities.
With the victory, the Big Green improve to 3-1-2 on the season and will return to action this Saturday vs. St. Paul’s for Fall Family Weekend.
