On Friday October 11th, Deerfield’s Boys Varsity Soccer team faced off against the Hotchkiss School in an exciting game. The boys started off hot with many chances in the opening minutes that failed to get past the goalie. The game looked to be going into the Green’s favor until Hotchkiss scored a goal off of a restart about 20 minutes into the match. Deerfield remained poised and was dominant for the rest of the first half but unable to get onto the board. However, the Green remained steadfast in their efforts and scored two goals in the first 6 minutes of the second half. Both goals were assisted by Teddy Cyr ‘27 – first breaking past a defender and finding Owen Tymchuk for a finish, and then chipping the ball to Jack Dvorin for a header. The green kept rolling, scoring 5 minutes later with Owen Tymchuk poking the ball into the goal when it dropped from the hands of the Hotchkiss goalie. Final score is Deerfield 3 – Hotchkiss 1. The Big Green face Loomis Chaffee on Wednesday, October 16.
