Deerfield boys varsity soccer knew coming into this game that Berkshire was a fantastic soccer team, and they would need to give all their might if they wanted a chance to beat Berkshire, and that they did. Deerfield came out confident and energetic, taking control of the ball until a brilliant through ball from Owen Tymchuk ‘26 broke past the defense giving an easy goal to Teddy Cyr ‘27. With a hopeful lead, Deerfield slowed the game down and stayed defense heavy. This kept up until Berkshire scored a goal off of a corner kick towards the 20th minute of the second half. Despite Deerfield’s best efforts, the score stayed 1-1 until the end of the game. A brilliant game played by both sides and definitely not a tie to look down upon. We will see how this experience transfers to the next game against St.Pauls this Saturday.
