JV Field Hockey had a triumphant game against Loomis on this fine fall Friday, winning 3-0. Coming off of Deerfield’s long weekend, the girls looked well-rested and excited to be back on the field. Campbell Ardrey played with a particularly fiery determination, scoring all three goals of the game. The sidelines erupted with cheers about her “hat trick” after the third tip in. Taylor Wilburn, who is new to the team and new to the game, has picked up the sport quickly, putting forth an already consistent and skilled performance in the midfield. Ellora Devitre also had a note-worthy game, impressing us coaches with her grit and stellar positioning on the field. Penley Day and Esther Lee had a quiet game in their roles as sweep, but were rock-solid communicators on the field nonetheless, leading the defense with confidence in those moments of offensive pressure from Loomis. It was heartening to see the DA squad bounce back so positively and energetically after our first loss of the season. We’re excited to hit the road on Wednesday 10/16 and face off against Westminster.
