DA JV Swim had a wonderful meet this past Wednesday against Northfield Mount Hermon and Eaglebrook. Our swimmers truly brought their best, swimming a spectacular 23 best times across the team. One particular event of note for Deerfield was the 500 yard freestyle, featuring two swimmers new to DA JV Swim, Julie Yan ‘26 and Edie Huffard ‘25. While they may be new to our team, they seemed like seasoned athletes in the pool as they both dramatically overtook a solid NMH swimmer in the final lap of the race. They came in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Miu Yatsuka ‘24 had a 2nd place swim in the 50 yard butterfly and a 3rd place swim in the 100 yard breaststroke. Melody Zhao ‘26 came in 3rd in the 100 yard IM, and Ella Davies ‘24 had a great race, scoring 3rd in the 100 yard backstroke. While the above swimmers had standout meets, we’d be remiss to not acknowledge each and every swimmer on the JV squad for their flexibility this Wednesday after an unforeseen injury caused a number of last minute changes to the lineup. We also want to celebrate Josh Cole ‘27 and Yong Ding ‘27, who made their JV Swim debut in the meet on Wednesday! We hope to see you at our next meet Saturday 1/27, home, against Eagle Hill and Bancroft.
