DA JV Swim has a stellar meet against Bancroft and Eagle Hill this morning. While the early start time and a recent slew of illness left some of our swimmers feeling off their game, we still came out on top, beating Eagle Hill 100 to 83 and Bancroft 101 to 80. The highlights of the meet included a first place finish and best time for Miu Yatsuka ‘24 in the 100 yard individual medley, a first place finish for Jazmine Wilson Bigornia ‘25 in the exhibition heat of the 50 yard freestyle, a first and second place finish for Melody Zhao ‘26 and Louis Calderwood ‘27 respectively in the 50 yard butterfly, a dramatic, come-from-behind second place finish for Edie Huffard ‘25 in the 500 yard freestyle, a second place finish for Yong Ding ‘27 in the 100 yard backstroke, a first place finish for Elizabeth Richards ‘24 in the 100 yard breaststroke, and a first place finish for Yatsuka, Richards, Zhao, and Calderwood in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Wow! Ella Davies ‘24 also had a stellar meet, earning her best time in all four events she swam. As always, there was no shortage of improvement; the DA squad swam 16 personal bests across the meet. We’ll see you at our next meet, away, at Suffield this Wednesday 1/31.
