Girls Varsity Hockey played a complete game on Friday night at home, pushing the pace all game long, and skated away with a 9-0 win. Annie Dinges ‘24 opened the scoring, finishing off a beautiful feed in front from Olivia Austen ‘27 (Sophie Frost ‘26 also earned an assist), and then Gia Thompson ‘26 scored a beautiful power play goal off of assists from Dinges and Allie Corrieri ‘25. We exploded for four goals in the second period: Mia Goetzke ‘24 off of a great pass from Ava Giroux ‘26, Dinges from Frost while playing 4 vs. 4, Keira Austen ‘26 with a slap shot on the power play (assists to Giroux and Corrieri), and then Dinges completed the hat trick by finishing off a great play by Frost and Gillian Herr ‘27. The third period saw goals from Brady Wierl ‘26 off of a great pass from Peyton Wierl ‘26 (Thompson also earned an assist), Ava Giroux ‘26 with a great move in front off of passes from Corrieri and Izzy Cericola ‘24, and then Olivia Austen ‘27 on the backhand from Frost and K. Austen. Campbell Krotee ‘25 earned the shutout in goal, and Mia Goetzke was awarded the hard hat for her work ethic and positive attitude. Many thanks to the family and friends who supported us tonight; it was fun to play in front of a lively crowd. We’ll hit the road in the morning to take on a good Exeter squad.
