Deerfield Girls Hockey took on rival Choate at home this afternoon, earning a hard-fought 4-2 win. Annie Dinges ’24 opened the scoring, finishing off a beautiful play down low from Olivia Austen ’27 and Sophie Frost ’26. Late in the second, Izzy Cericola ’24 doubled our lead, poking home a rebound off of a great effort from Ava Giroux ’26 and Keira Austen ’26. Though we had a goal disallowed twenty seconds later, we quickly earned a power play, and Giroux tipped home an Allie Corrieri ’25 blast (second assist to K. Austen) to give us a 3-0 lead after two periods. Though Choate pulled within one in the third period off of two quick goals, Dinges gave us a cushion on the power play with a great drive to goal (assist to Corrieri), and we held on for a 4-2 victory. Campbell Krotee ’25 was strong in goal, and earned the hard hat for pushing through illness to compete for her team today. Many thanks to the Tamul family for the amazing Chipotle dinner after the game! Next up is a Friday night matchup at home against New Hampton.
