Deerfield traveled to Ashburnham to play a talented Cushing team. The boys came out fast. Cushing was able to capitalize on an early power play, but Deerfield responded quickly with a power play goal scored by Drew Keiver ‘25, assisted by Lance Roberts ‘25 and Nate Watson ‘26. Cushing found the back of the net to make the score at the end of the first period 2-1. Jakub Kohn ‘24 was able to find the back of the net to tie it up early in the second period with assists from Tom Molson ‘24 and Justin Tavares ‘25. Cushing kept the game fast paced, resulting in three goals in the second. The score at the end of the period was 5-2. With their momentum, Cushing was able to possess the puck for a majority of the second. A few close chances for Deerfield, but Cushing was able to advance their lead with two more goals before the end of the game, with a final score of 7-2.
