Deerfield hosted rivals, Choate, for the second rivalry game of the year. After falling to Deerfield earlier in the season 7-1, Choate came out quickly. Both teams played strong, resulting in a scoreless first period. Heading in the second, Deerfield’s goal was to find the back of the net. Three minutes into the second, Jakub Kohn ‘24 scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Tom Molson ‘24 and Justin Tavares ‘25, giving Deerfield the initial lead. However, Choate was able to respond with two goals before the end of the period, putting them up going into the third. Deerfield had a few more chances in the third period, but was unable to score. Despite this, Deerfield held strong defensively, keeping Choate from capitalizing again. Deerfield fell short with a close score of 2-1. Ready to learn from this game and apply on Wednesday at Westminster.
