Deerfield finished their long stretch on the road with a game against Andover. It was the second match up, with Deerfield falling to Andover during the Flood Marr tournament. Deerfield prepared to play a face-paced physical team. Andover came out fast, gaining an early lead in the first period. Nate Watson ‘26 responded soon after with an assist from Tom Molson ‘24. Deerfield continued to hold strong, with Tommy Augustine ‘24 finding the back of the net with 17.7 seconds left in the first period, assisted by Marc Miron ‘24. While maintaining possession for a majority of the game, Deerfield looked to advance their lead. The second period ended scoreless as Deerfield held strong defensively. However, heading into the third period, Andover looked to come out even stronger. They were able to finish two shots early on, giving them a 3-2 lead. Once again Deerfield did not let-up. Lance Roberts ‘25 was able to capitalize less than a minute after Andover’s third goal, assisted by Cam Herr ‘24 to tie up the game. 10 seconds later Tom Molson regained Deerfield’s lead 4-3 assisted by Justin Tavares ‘25 and Jakub Kohn ‘24. Andover stayed hungry, yet Justin Tavares secured Deerfield’s 5-3 with an empty net. The boys were able to play a full game of hockey. Working to keep this momentum going for Loomis next Wednesday.
