The Boys JV Hockey team hosted the Wildcats from Williston in a Wednesday afternoon contest at the Class of ’93 rink. Deerfield was looking for high energy coming off a day of no practice and they delivered. After the first period the team held a 1-0 with Alex Sotirhos scoring the team’s first goal. His line, along with Alexander Rolfe and Julian Navab would account for 4 of the 5 goals on the day as Deerfield would cruise to a 5-0 win.
Jarron Crosbie got the shutout in net on the day. He made several key stops early in the game and then in the final period Jarron made incredible saves in the last 2 – minutes of the game to preserve the shutout. Alexander Rolfe would lead all scores with a goal game while Sotirhos, Griffin Cepiel and Jack Welch rounded out the scoring. Alex Sotirhos had three assists on the afternoon.
Great effort was on display by penalty killers Cole Rorick, Will Kertesz, Tripp Woytowicz, G. Cepiel, Rob Callender, Owen Fleck and Blake Donnellan.
Deerfield committed 10 penalties throughout the game against Williston’s 4. This is something the team will need to be better at in their upcoming games vs. Choate, Cushing and Hotchkiss.
