Boys’ 3rds Basketball coasted to a 48-33 victory at home against Cushing Academy after securing a quick eight-point lead and never looking back. At one point stretching the lead to 22 points in the second half, the squad found great success with their pressure defense in both the full- and half-court. Michael Hioe ‘27, Victor Kibuuka ‘26, Johnny Scagel ‘25 combined for 13 steals in the game. Point contribution came from all but two players with Jerry Du ’27 and Hioe both contributing 8 points. One weak spot: foul shooting. For the second game in a row, the Doors shot below 25 percent from the line, connecting on only 4 of 17 free throws. With an all-campus event Thursday, the team travels without a practice session to Eagle Hill on Friday. Let’s hope they bring the same “fire” – to quote Jadin Smith ’26 – to east-side of Boston’s clean water supply.
