Right from the opening tip-off, Deerfield displayed their skills and teamwork. It all began with a beautifully executed play as Mac Hynds tapped the ball to Will Machnik, who seamlessly executed a give-and-go with Brady Read. This swift exchange set the tone, and Deerfield took an early 2-0 lead.
The momentum didn’t stop there; Theo Lewis and Sungmin Ahn followed with three-pointers that extended Deerfield’s lead to 8-0. From that moment on, the Doors were in control, never looking back. Will Machnik was on fire, scoring an incredible 13 consecutive points, including a smooth backdoor layup assisted by Cooper Johnson. These plays allowed Deerfield to build an impressive 25-8 lead.
