On a picturesque fall Wednesday, the Big Green returned home to Jamie Kapteyn field to face the Taft Rhinos. Almost halfway through the first half, the Doors settled into the rhythm of play fueled by the play of the Big Green midfielders of Allie Corrieri, Minjoo Serhant, Meryl Gilbert and Cori Scagel. Their passing combinations and hard work led to a fury of great scoring chances for the Big Green led by efforts from Alex Hermsdorf, Kaelin Creagh, Claire Kepner and Anna Dyjack. In the final five minutes of the first half, Taft created a chance on the right flank off a give-and-go that resulted in a cross that the Big Green were unable to clear cleanly and the Rhinos netted the first goal of the game. The Big Green responded leveling the score before the halftime on a goal from Anna Dyjach, assisted by Minjoo Serhant and Kaelin Creagh. A third of the way through the second half, the Rhinos earned a set piece in which they converted to take the lead, 2-1. The Big Green continued to press for the equalizing goal and created several chances, but ran out of time at the final whistle.
