We came out today aiming to buzz around with more energy than in previous games and we did just that for a solid first 40 minutes. It started up front with captain Matteo Stewart ’25 and the team followed his lead. We were solid in back, tackling in the midfield, and possessive up front just as we drew it up. We gave up a couple of chances, but nothing keeper Joe Berman ’25 couldn’t handle. We had some good chances too, particularly from midfielders Jack Borg’ 27 and MacGregor Hynds ’25, but the half ended 0-0. Taft was more composed in the second half and we looked a little flat, but solid play from defenders Finn Knight ’25, Jason Bannerman ’24, Sungmin Ahn ’26, Kiefer Ebling ’25, and Ari Santos ’25 kept us out of trouble. While a draw is never a desired outcome, this was a strong and much improved showing from a team still finding its rhythm. Coach Corliss and I were proud of the effort, the positive energy, and the superior sportsmanship.
