On a pleasantly warm September Saturday, Deerfield JV Boys Soccer picked up their first win of the year in a 1-0 contest with Suffield Academy. Newly-elected captain Matteo Stewart ‘24 scored the lone goal of the day 25 minutes in after a series of clever passes deep in Suffield’s half. Steady defense, led by keeper Joe Berman ‘25, ruled the remainder of the game. Sungmin Ahn ‘26 was dominant from the wingback position, making it difficult for the Tigers to attack from width. Jack Borg ‘27 showed great awareness and ball control from the midfield in his first game for the Big Green. The squad is looking forward to a Wednesday matchup against NMH at home.
