At home on a rainy Saturday afternoon, we shut out Brunswick 4-0 with a nice rebound effort after a midweek loss. This was our defense’s, specifically Joe Berman’s, second clean sheet in three games, so we’re feeling strong in the back. We worked hard in practice to improve our possessions and passing and it showed. Off the jump, we put were superior in the midfield and put pressure on their back line. Caleb McDaniel ’24 led off the scoring with a nice pass from Tai Feng ’25 and some shake-n-bake in their box, dusting off some defenders much like he had done in practice yesterday. About ten minutes later, MacGregor Hynds ’25 took a nice pass again from Tai Feng ’25 at the top of the box and finished near post. Minutes later, Rowan Heithoff ’24 stole the ball on the right wing, touched right, and drove a low burner far post. It was 3-0 at half. We possessed well in the second half as well, with out midfield and back four turning Brunswick over regularly. We pressed and finally, Rowan Heithoff made it 4-0 on a bicycle finish on a perfect cross from Oscar Sanford ’25. This was a fun game to watch and certainly a confidence builder for this team.
