Deerfield went 97 yards in the final 2 minutes of the game and then scored on defense when time expired to beat Brunswick 26-17 to improve to 3-0. RB Malachi Costello paced the way on the ground for Deerfield, rushing for over 100 yards and a TD. QB Cole Geer rounded out the scoring on offense with 2 QB sneak touchdowns. On defense, ILB Ethan Roossein led the team in tackles and DE Cole Bennett added a sack and multiple TFLs. The special teams units for Deerfield were very strong, with PR Jameszell Lassiter having two lengthy punt returns and the kick cover units pinned Brunswick back all game. Deerfield is at home next week for another league game against undefeated Cheshire Academy.
