Deerfield varsity girls tennis continued to find success this weekend vs Taft. The team came out with aggressive doubles play. The return of Natalia Sanders to the line-up created dynamic energy on court one as she and her partner, captain Liv Waterfall, played with paired aggression to earn a decisive victory from the onset. Court two and court three followed that pattern as Avery Brooker and Linnea Dreslin picked up a decisive victory, and Giorgia Santore and Alex Kelsey did the same.
In singles, tough matches were played up and down the ladder. Natalia, Avery, and Linnea finished first, dispatching their opponents in straight sets. Meanwhile, Liv, Giorgia and Alex found themselves all in hard-fought matches that went back and forth throughout the afternoon. Liv and Alex were able to pull out victories as the storm clouds loomed overhead. Giorgia fought hard, but ultimately came up short in a grueling match that ended the day.
