The Deerfield boys JV tennis team (1-0) opened their season on a high note, defeating Cardigan Mountain School 8-1 at home. The team features numerous returners from last season, but also several talented newcomers near the top of the ladder. Against Cardigan, the singles matches were played first and Deerfield won the first five to clinch the overall match, losing only the final singles match in a third-set tiebreaker to prevent the sweep.

The doubles matches, played in an 8-set pro set format, were all close, with the final match going into a tiebreaker after the pairs tied 8-8.
