Deerfield dropped the first game of a three game set against Stony Brook 13-12 in 6 innings. Deerfield jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning. Stony Brook answered with 9 runs in the top of the 4^th to take a 10-9 lead. It was back and forth until the game was called due to darkness with the score 13-12 in favor of Stony Brook. At the plate LF Tom Spater and RF Steve Souder each had 2 hits and drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs combined. 3B Gavin Rigney got on base all 4 times he went to the plate and scored 2 runs and had 2 SB. SP Kenny Carlisle pitched well for the Doors, allowing 4 ER over 3 IP.
