Deerfield picked up their first win of the season in the Central New England League opener against Cushing by a score of 9-0. Pitchers Kenny Carlisle and Eliot Seymour combined to allow just 3 hits and struck out 12 batters. At the plate SS Conor Moriarty and 2B Ryan McHugh combined for 4 hits and 5 runs scored. Moriarty led off the game with a triple and McHugh drove him in with a ground out to SS. 3B Gavin Rigney picked up his first hit of the season with a bases loaded 2 RBI single to get the scoring going in the 3^rd inning. RF Cole Geer played well in his first start going 1-3 with an RBI, run scored, and 2 SB.
