Deerfield’s JV Swim team took on Northfield Mount Hermon, away, on this sunny February afternoon. While we didn’t come out on top, the team was enthusiastic, determined, and in good humor throughout the afternoon. One highlight of the meet was our winning 200 yard Freestyle relay, swam by Miu Yatsuka ‘24, Ellie Nam ‘25, Elizabeth Richards ‘24, and Evan Xie ‘25. Miu Yatsuka had a great individual meet as well, coming in first in the 100 yard Butterfly and second in the 100 yard breaststroke. Melody Zhao ‘26 also had a number of strong swims, coming in second place in both the 100 yard IM and the 500 yard freestyle. Other solid second place finishes included Ella Hynds ‘23 in the 200 yard Freestyle, Maddalena Honablue ‘23 in the 50 yard Backstroke, and Jazmine Wilson Bigornia ‘25 in the 50 yard Breaststroke. The team left NMH with 15 personal best times and a bus full of enthusiasm! We’re excited to get back in the pool at the Nicholas Whyte Invitational at Eaglebrook this Saturday.
