The Boys JV hockey team went on the road Wednesday for their final away game of the season! The trip was a short one to nearby NMH school just up the road.
The weather conditions were favorable which is always nice to have when playing at the NMH rink! The final score today would be Deerfield 5 – NMH 4. The game was close throughout and Big Green could never pull away in this one. The NMH goalie played very well and our offensive rhythm never got in sync all afternoon. Credit goes to the NMH team that seized every opportunity for scoring and they kept coming back and making the game close.
Billy Weller and Matteo Alvarez each scored twice with Alexander Rolfe netting the eventual game winner midway through the third period.
Deerfield will host Westminster on Saturday bringing a close to the season. A special shout out to the seniors on this year’s team; Carson Belaire, Ben Gisonni, and Will Scharfenberger who will dress against Westminster. Injured earlier in the season and no longer active on the roster are two more seniors Jack Gammage and Felix Rockefeller. All five seniors have helped set a high bar for the boys JV hockey team during their years at Deerfield. They will be missed…
