After a long week of try-outs, a thirds squash team of 9 players emerged, 3 of whom were totally new to the sport. For the first match of the season, the team faced Eaglebrook, its neighbors up the rock. Our top two players, returning players Nikhil Lebaka ’24 and Preyas Sinha ’24, won with hard-fought 3-2 matches. In the number three spot, Nico Pfeifler ’25 nearly won in his 2-3 match. Among the other players — all of whom had never played squash competitively — most scraped near-wins in games with a mere 2-point loss, such as a 9-11 game by Bryan Gianvecchio ’26, an 11-13 game by Watt Muir ’24, and a 13-15 game by Will Wichern ’27. The team looks forward to its first away match of the season against Williston this Saturday.
