Deerfield Girls Hockey rebounded this morning with a good 5-2 win against Worcester. We came out flying, scoring four goals in the first period. Gia Thompson ‘26 opened the scoring, tipping home a smart shot from Amelia Healey ‘27. Then, Gillian Herr ‘27 doubled our lead off of a great feed from Ava Giroux ‘26 (Mia Goetzke ‘24 also earned an assist). Sophie Frost ‘26 then got the first two goals of her Deerfield career, the first assisted by Brady Wierl ‘26 and Keira Austen ‘26 and the second from Austen and Annie Dinges ‘24. Ava Carvel ‘25 rounded out our scoring in the second period (her first DA goal!), with the assist going to Austen. Peyton Wierl ‘26 earned the hard hat for her strong effort on the forecheck and back check. We’ll have a few hours to recover in the hotel before taking on Cushing later this afternoon.
