Deerfield: 17 vs Worcester: 20
Deerfield: 16 vs Loomis Chaffee: 6
Deerfield: 27 vs Suffield: 9
Deerfield boy’s thirds basketball traveled to Suffield, CT for a mini tourney between four schools. Games were 20 minutes, running clock. The first game against Worcester Academy turned out to be a barnburner as a late run in the final minutes by Worcester solidified their 20-17 win over Deerfield. Despite Deerfield’s strong pressure defense and balanced point contribution from 8 Doors, Worcester’s hot outsides hooting gave them the edge. Tragically, Deerfield won’t be able to seek revenge unless a thirds playoff ever becomes a reality. Deerfield dominated the second match against Loomis Chaffee, winning 16-6 off a quick five points from Jadin Smith ’26 and solid defense from Jerry Yu ’27 and Jack Wagner ’26. The final match against Suffield Academy ended in another Deerfield victory, with point contribution coming primarily from the hot hand of Yu and Isaac Shobola ’27. Jack Wagner ’26 has guaranteed he will get his first points of the season at the first home match this Monday against Eagle Hill.
