Boy’s 3rds basketball traveled to Northfield Mount Hermon for their first matchup of the season. Despite a valiant comeback effort, Deerfield lost the contest 51-47. All 14 players made it into the first game of the season; each one left their signature on the game as 10 made it into the scorer’s book. Jerry Du ’27, Michael Hioe ‘27 and Jonny Scagel ’25 were the leading scorers, combining for 27 points in the contest. Eddie Andrews ’27 and Hawk Okpokwasili ‘25 were monsters on both the offensive and defensive boards. Jay Rich ’27 lead the way in hustle points. The team travels to Suffield on Saturday, for a small tournament, before their first home match on Monday against the Eagle Hill School.
