Boys thirds basketball faced off against the Eagle Hill School on Monday for their home opener. The Doors executed on both ends of the court for a 51-17 statement win. Twelve of the fourteen suited players made it into the scorer’s book with Michael Hioe ‘27 leading the way, recording 12 points in only 10 minutes. Deerfield’s pressure half-court defense set the tone and led to many fast-break points. In the half court set, Eddie Andrews ‘27 played a key role in picking apart the Hill School’s 2-3 zone. As promised, Jack Wagner ‘26 got his first bucket of the season with a beautiful reverse layup midway through the second half after missing a couple in the first. Of note: Jack Webb ‘27 recorded his first start of the season and demonstrated good poise on the offensive end. The team is on break until their next matchup against the cross-5&10 rival, the Eaglebrook School, on January 6th.
