On Saturday, the Big Green traveled to Lakeville, CT to battle the Hotchkiss Bearcats in a night under the lights. It was a great battle back-and-forth to start the game with both teams creating chances. Midway through the first half Meryl Gilbert broke through the Hotchkiss defense for a threatening chance that was saved by the Hotchkiss goalkeeper. The Bearcats capitalized on a Deerfield defensive breakdown towards the end of the first half to go down 0-1. The Bearcats finished two more opportunities in the second half. At the final whistle the score was 3-0 for the home side.
