The Deerfield JV Field Hockey team had an exciting win today against Choate! Because of the storied rivalry between Choate and Deerfield and our hopes for an undefeated season, DA players came to the field with fire in their bellies. Our early speed and intensity paid off, allowing DA to score first off of a hard push by Emily Bruno ‘25, assisted by Lila King ‘24. In the second quarter, mere moments after getting on the field, Brooke Stroh ‘24 put in a second goal off of the goalie’s pads. By the second half, the Deerfield squad found their rhythm and put in three more goals before the final whistle. First, Linnea Dreslin ‘24 shoveled in a goal, followed by a push in from the post by Audrey Steffensen ‘26. Both goals were assisted by Lexi Rohan ‘25. The final goal was off of a beautiful hit by Campbell Ardrey ‘26 right at the end of the third quarter. Our goalies Sarah Hanks ‘25 and Juliet Amadeo ‘24 had some big saves today shutting down every shot from an eager Choate offense. Of particular note was a dramatic one-on-one save by Amadeo on a Choate breakaway in the third quarter. While every player on the team brought their best to today’s game, we were especially excited to watch our five seniors play out the last few minutes of the fourth quarter together. Josephine Cramer, Lila King, Linnea Dreslin, Brooke Stroh, and Juliet Amadeo have been exceptional leaders on our team and us coaches feel so lucky to have watched them succeed in so many ways this season. Go Big Green!
