Deerfield traveled to Berkshire today to face an explosive and experienced squad. The game started with both sides feeling each other out until Berkshire started to find their attacking rhythm. Deerfield held Berkshire without many solid chances until Berkshire drew a Penalty Kick in the 25th minute which led to a finish and 1-0 Berkshire lead. The half would end that way and set up a competitive second half which saw more back and forth play between the two sides. Kai Darrell came up huge in the second half as did the back four of Gavin Rigney, Cooper Johnson, Barack Mwesigwa, and Ralph Vogel, but ultimately, Deerfield couldn’t find the back of the net. Berkshire added another in the last minute of the game when Big Green was trying to push to tie. The game ended 2-0 Berkshire, but it was a great effort from an undermanned Deerfield squad. Big Green will look to get back on track on Saturday against a tough St. Paul’s squad.
