Varsity FH traveled to St. Paul’s on Saturday to take on the Big Red. It was a warm, rainy day and Deerfield found the back of the net first on a Riley Harrington ’24 goal from Kate MacKenzie ’24. St. Paul’s had a great run at the end of the first quarter to tie it up 1-1 with 1.5 seconds left on the clock. It was back and forth the rest of the game and each team had opportunities, but the game remained at 1-1 after 4 quarters. Julia Tamul ’25, Kate Doucette ’27, Lilly Oliver ’26, Eloise Hochberg ’27, Bailey Miller ’24, and Loulla Rousou ’25 made some great plays during the game. During overtime, Deerfield did a great job maintaining possession and MacKenzie, Harrington, and Ella Davies ‘24 came up with some big defensive plays. It was a Davies shot that ultimately gave DA the 2-1 win with 5 minutes left in OT. Go Big Green!
