Varsity FH traveled to Windsor, CT to play a strong Loomis team on Saturday. Deerfield had a great warm-up and played poised and smart field hockey throughout the game. Loomis had some corner opportunities in the first quarter, but our defense did a great job stopping their plays and transitioning it up the field. Deerfield drew several corners themselves but unfortunately could not find the back of the net during regular play. Despite a late push by Loomis in the 4th quarter, the game went to overtime and Lilly Oliver ’26 found the back of the net on a corner just 2 minutes into overtime to give Deerfield the 1-0 win. It was a great team win for Deerfield, with strong play from Julia Tamul ’25, Haley Abraham ’25, Ella Davies ’24, and Peyton Wierl ’26. We look forward to preparing for our next game on Wednesday against Westy. Go Big Green!
