Deerfield’s JV Field Hockey team had another big win this Wednesday against Westminster. After a close match against this team last year, Deerfield came to the field ready for a battle, and battle they did. In the first half, Emily Bruno ‘25 scored twice, assisted first by Lila Church ‘25 and second by Lexi Rohan ‘25. Rohan then scored unassisted to put Westminster at a 3 point deficit going into the second half. Deerfield didn’t slow down there. In the second half, Church sent one in herself, as did Linnea Dreslin ‘24, and Campbell Ardrey ‘26. Rohan then scored a second on the day, followed by the final goal of the game by Lila King ‘24, assisted by Alana McDonough ‘27. Deerfield’s steadfast defense, Penley Day ‘25, Esther Lee ‘25, Rose Manning ‘26, Lalwani Surpitski ‘26, Josephine Cramer ‘24, Linnea Knox ‘27, and Alva Fink ‘25, held Westminster scoreless through all four quarters. This Saturday is our Fall Family Weekend game; we’re excited to play a competitive game against Taft on our home turf, surrounded by our friends and family.
