Deerfield JV Girls won 20-14 against Taft this afternoon on our home court. We started off strong and ended the first half at 12-2. Sally Rolland ’23 put up the first basket, followed by Fiona Van Nuys ’25. Izzy Ramirez ’25 put in a free throw to bring us to 5 points. We rebounded well and kept the ball mostly in our end, though the shots were not dropping in as much as we would have liked to see. Eleanor duPont ’26 lead the rebounding and showed impressive speed on the paint, moving the ball in and around from side-to-side. She finished strong and scored three times. Giorgia Santore ’24 dropped in a break-away lay-up at the start of the second half and her confident ball movement started a lot of good plays. Nainika Lebaka ’24 scored two baskets and played strong, solid defense.
