On Wednesday, the Big Green traveled to Simsbury, CT to battle Westminster in the team’s second consecutive away game. The home side Martlets got on the board early and kept high pressing and maintained strong possession throughout the first 40 minutes of play. At half time, the score was 3-0 in favor of the home side. At half-time, the Big Green regrouped and came out strong with more purposeful possession, collective defending and strong communication in the second half. Kaelin Creagh ‘24 scored the lone goal of the game for the Big Green after beating her defender 1v1. The Big Green defense and goalkeeper Ellie Schiller ‘25 stood strong in the second half to help the Big Green to earn a shut out in the second half. Ultimately, the final score was 3-1 in favor of the Martlets. The Big Green will look to carry the second half momentum into their home game this Saturday vs. Kimball Union.
