On Wednesday the Deerfield and Milton field hockey teams met at Middlesex to play a mutual site game. The game was back and forth and both teams had some great shots on goal. Lauren Smith ’24 made a few beautiful saves and Bailey Miller ’24 had some strong carries and pushes down the right side of the field. After 60 minutes of play, the score remained 1-1 (Deerfield goal made by Sage Piekarski ’23). The seven players on the field during overtime played a skilled and hard fought 8:30 minutes of overtime before Ella Davies ’24 tipped and scored on the drive that Sage Pekarski made to score the OT game winning goal! Deerfield beat Milton 2 – 1 in this closely-matched game. Julia Tamul ’25 and Ilsa Borgen ’26 played well defensively. Next up, the team travels to Exeter on Saturday.
